We had Hoban & Associates in our life for 5 years.  We first saw Susan when our son was 4 years old.  Hoban & Associates knew exactly what was needed for my son - an intensive ABA program.  Once we all got to work on the program, he progressed quickly.  He had made tremendous gains in things that I never thought he would be able to do and we still can't believe, to this day, how well our son is doing.  We do know that it was mainly because Hoban & Associates was a huge part of his learning.  Our son is 12 years old now and is doing fabulous!  He is in public school with pull-outs for certain subjects.  He has many friends and has become quite popular in school.  I look back at some of the videos from his ABA program and can't believe it is the same kid!

Not only do they teach necessary life skills, socialization and academic skills, but they help parents in dealing with ASD.  Our team became part of our family and I still, to this day, talk to everyone from Hoban & Associates.  They really care.

I have tremendous respect for Susan and her employees.  I do not know where our son would be if it weren't for them.  They made a difference in our life and so many others. – T

Susan Hoban has been working with our daughter since she was first diagnosed with PDD-NOS in 2005.  At first, we had no idea how blessed we were to be have Susan herself designing and overseeing our daughter's program.  We quickly came to realize what a true advocate and amazing clinician Susan is, and how extremely insightful she is in her ability to develop new and creative ways to address our daughter's unique learning style, language issues and play and socialization needs when the standard protocols did not work.  Susan's ability to train and lead the individual therapists who implement home programs and shadow children in typical preschool settings is exemplary.  The individual therapists who worked with our daughter under Susan's tutelage were second to none.  Many of them, under Susan's guidance and supervision, are now certified behavior specialists in their own rights, leading their own teams.  To this day, we still maintain relationships with many of her former individual therapists and we know that Susan will be a part of our family long after she is no longer working with our daughter.

It is said that our children are not entitled to the "Cadillac" of programming, but our daughter was fortunate to have the "Rolls Royce" of home programs from the well-trained, experienced and dedicated professionals at Hoban and Associates.  Today, our daughter is blossoming at a small school for children with learning differences, without the presence of a shadow and with a minimal amount of home programming, and we know that is not something that would ever have been possible without Hoban and Associates.   It  has been a long journey, and we still have a long way to go, but we are confident that our daughter will be able to live her life to the fullest extent possible because of Susan Hoban and her associates, and for that we will be grateful for the rest of our lives.   Every child should be so lucky. – S & B

For a family experiencing a new diagnosis, there is no better place to start than with Hoban & Associates.  They have so much experience and expertise that they know exactly where to begin. Susan Hoban held our hand through play therapy which made an astounding difference in our household. She taught us right along with teaching our little guy. It wasn’t long before he was playing appropriately and happily with his toys in useful and meaningful ways. She always made herself available to answer questions along the way.

Our consultant became part of our family in no time. The team meetings were brain storming sessions mixed with tears and laughter. The strength gained from knowing that you are not alone, that there is help and people who truly care to guide you, makes all the difference in the world. The individual family’s needs and family dynamics were always respected and taken into account when developing strategies for teaching.  One of the big differences with Hoban & Associates and other program providers is that they build a program for YOUR CHILD that works for your family. Many other program providers have a set program that your child and family are required to "fit in to”. With Autism, one size does not fit all. The staff at Hoban & Associates knows and understands that and a really good program makes all the difference in the world. I personally could never thank them enough for all the support, expertise, and hand-holding they provided for our family.  For any family with a newly diagnosed child, Hoban & Associates is the first step you need to take…immediately.

To Hoban & Associates: Thank you so very, very much for everything that you’ve done for our family and our “little guy” who is now taller than me! - S

K. started with Hoban and Associates when he was 2 years old after being diagnosed with PDD-NOS by Children's Hospital of Philadelphia Pediatric Developmental Division.  K. was not talking or communicating with us at all and was unable to ask for his basic wants and needs.  K. began an ABA Program with Hoban and Associates and over the course of time has made tremendous progress moving from sign language to full verbal communication.  K. is now at 8 years old attending public school and receives assistance in Math, Integrated Language Arts, and assistance interacting with his peers.  We thank Hoban and Associates for guiding us each step of the way and attribute his progress to the dedicated wonderful team and Hoban and Associates.

We are so grateful for K.’s progress and attribute K.'s success to your team.  They are awesome and we just can't say enough great things about the program we have for K. and how much we think of Shannon!! T

When we first learned that our son was Autistic at about age 2, we felt lost. We spent time running from doctor to doctor to find an answer about what we should be doing. Luckily for us, we were referred to Hoban and Associates. Susan Hoban took the time to explain Applied Behavioral Analysis to us and started to work with our son at age 2 1/2. Susan not only explained her role and the role of the trainers, but of our role in our son's progress. People that knew our son when he was more prone to unpredictable behaviors now comment on his calm and happy demeanor. He is now 11 years old and doing well and we are still working with Susan as a consultant to monitor our son's progress. For our son, Applied Behavioral Analysis combined with Physical, Occupational, and Speech Therapy have helped him immensely. We started with Hoban and associates shortly after our daughter's 4th birthday. Our daughter was diagnosed with autism and apraxia at 15 months old. We immediately started speech, OT, and ABA services with little improvement over the years. Someone recommended switching our ABA program to Hoban and Associates and we immediately saw results. It’s been almost a year our daughter is verbal and showing steady improvement. We are happy to report that she is far from the little girl that was barely vocal a year ago! Thanks to Hoban and Associates soon she'll be able to show everyone the bright and beautiful girl that we always knew she was! - K

Hoban and Associates was a port in a storm for our family. When we were exasperated and we did not know how to help our children, Susan and Mari snapped into action, teaching our children how to integrate play into learning cognitive and social skills. The skills that our children learned will last through their lives. The difference between having these skills and not having these skills is the difference between dependence and independence. We will always be grateful for the support of Susan Hoban and her team! – M

I could not let our time together end without expressing to you my deepest gratitude. You are so thoughtful, intelligent, caring and intuitive in your work. You are so principled and filled with passion, compassion and integrity. Thank you for helping my beautiful girl and my family.  - L

When your child receives an ASD diagnosis, it’s a little bit like finding yourself in a strange land where you don’t speak the language. Everything is overwhelming---the vocabulary of the developmental pediatricians, the ins and outs of the Early Intervention system, and the challenge of teaching your child how to do those things that other boys and girls his age seem to do so easily.

We came to Susan Hoban shortly after our son P. was diagnosed with PDD-NOS.  Like most families, we began our journey with fear, confusion, and uncertainty.  Susan was the first person we met after P’s diagnosis who was able to give us the clarity and direction we needed.  She was candid and sympathetic when she spoke about P’s weaknesses.  But she was also quick to pick up on the things he did well and showed us how to capitalize on these strengths.  Susan answered our questions, helped us develop specific goals for our son, and showed us practical ways to help us achieve those goals.  Her guidance has been invaluable; our family has benefited so much from her many years of experience.

We’ve been with Hoban and Associates for over a year now.  In the beginning our son couldn’t say mommy, or daddy, or ask for something to drink or eat.  The other day we were driving along the road we usually take to Susan’s and he asked “go Hoban’s house?”  With Susan we celebrate our small victories and start working on the next thing. – M & N

As a parent, we are constantly striving for our children to be the best they can be...Hoban and Associates shares that goal and develops a program that provides children with the building blocks they need to excel...they are wonderful at not only drilling down to the basics that come so naturally to other children, but then systematically teaching those basics and building on them as a child progresses through the program. – J

Our daughter R., has had her fair shares of challenges with dual diagnoses of Down syndrome and autism, and also a seizure disorder.  Susan has gone above and beyond to ensure that R.'s program is relevant and focused, and has been gracious and accommodating in working with us as a busy two parent working family.  We trust her experience, knowledge, and insight without question, and have been thankful to have her as a guiding light through our journey through the uncharted territory of a special needs child.  Susan and her team have been nothing but 100% committed to helping our daughter achieve her highest capabilities, despite the obstacles that have arisen along the way.  They have demonstrated such patience and dedication in working with her, that we are forever indebted to them. – L & M

We have found Hoban and Associates to be a professional practice.   Staff is very approachable not pretentious at all. They operate on a high standard of accountability for their work. Their ultimate goal and focus is always to have the child reach her/his maximum potential whatever that may be for each individual child.   They always include the parents or family as part of the equation in the child's treatment. that was so important to us.  Also, with our child their approach was eclectic in that whatever worked for each child is the way to go.  No child fits into one mold and they are well aware of that fact.

We were grateful to have them work with our son.  We have not found another practice quite as dedicated as Hoban and Associates.A & M

My husband and I were referred to Susan Hoban and Associates during our son’s pre-school years. The first time we met Susan, we felt very comfortable with her. It was if we had known her for many years. Susan has excellent people skills, she is very intuitive, concerned, highly educated, and a excellent listener.

We feel very lucky to have had the opportunity to work with her and highly recommend her. – E & D
